Baptisia_Neighborhood Map (1)_Page_1_jpeg.jpg

The Baptisia is tucked between two of DC’s fastest growing Neighborhoods - Edgewood and Brookland. Brookland is sometimes called “Little Rome” for the dozens of religious institutions clustered around Catholic University. Edgewood is part of the booming Rhode Island Avenue corridor. Everything is close to the Baptisia...

It’s an easy 10-12 min walk to two Redline metro stops: Brookland/CUA or Rhode Island Ave from the Baptisia. It’s also an easy two minute bike ride to the Metropolitan Branch Trail which connects to downtown or Silver Spring. Bus stops with 10 lines are a two minute stroll to Franklin street.

Brookland is home to many local eateries and brew houses, pilates and yoga and dance studios and more. Don’t forget...Edgewood’s new Rec Center (3 min walk!) is nearing completion!

There are two top tier DC Public Charter Schools are a 5 min walk away and three more within a 5 min drive. These are in addition to 4 DCPS elementary and middle schools. Trinity University is a 5 min walk and Catholic University is a 12 min stroll.

All around the Baptisia construction is breathing new life to Edgewood and Brookland. Since Monroe Street Market and The Arts Walk became Brookland’s new retail area many new multifamily buildings and townhomes continue to emerge. Edgewood’ most transformative project is the redevelopment of the Rhode Island Shopping Center. This large redevelopment is only a 5 min walk and will create a new neighborhood out of 1,650 new residences and 250,00 SF of retail including a cinema.
